  • If cancellation is within 45 days of your arrival date, we cannot offer a refund.

Occupancy

  • Children are most certainly welcome,  but BaseCamp 37° is in a wild desert environment that must be respected: cactus, sage, and small cliffs dominate our property, along with all of the critters that call this place home.

  • All of our tents have a cal king sized bed and Katie Lee, Hayduke and Escalante also have a full futon, please advise us at the time of booking if you desire extra bedding, and we will gladly walk you through the available options.

  • Pets are welcome. Please know it is a desert environment, and most plants have prickers. Some dogs prefer to stay on the gravel paths, while others explore at their own risk.

The Scary “S” Word

  • We have both kinds of snakes, good ones and bad ones.  The latter has rattles and is venomous.  We have seen an average of 2-3 rattlesnakes per season.  Non-venomous snakes are slightly more common, with about 10 sighted each season.

The Other Critters

  • BaseCamp 37° is home to a wide range of animals: lizards dart, tarantulas lumber, jack rabbits bounce, cottontails hop, coyotes sing, chipmunks scamper, pack rats pack, and bugs bug when it’s buggy.  Larger mammals also live in this area: mule deer, antelope, cougars, bobcats, and, rumor has it, wolves. We’ve never encountered any of the larger animals on our property.
